WHAT IS XFEST?

XFEST is a Baltimore-based comedy festival specifically designed for gender minorities in comedy.

The mission of XFest is to work towards equity and justice in comedy by highlighting the talent of underrepresented voices. Comedy often excludes or is an unwelcome environment for gender minority comedians. XFEST aims to amplify voices from the margins.

XFEST features improv, stand-up, and sketch comedy and offers a variety of workshops. XFEST runs from Thursday, May 31 – Sunday, June 3.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN XFEST?

XFEST is a Baltimore-based comedy festival specifically designed for gender minorities in comedy.  This includes (but is not limited to): all women, non-binary folks, gender nonconforming folks, trans men, and intersex folks.

The mission of XFest is to work towards equity and justice in comedy by highlighting the talent of underrepresented voices. Comedy often excludes or is an unwelcome environment for women, LGBTQ, and people of color. XFest aims to amplify voices from the margins.

HOW DO I SUBMIT TO XFEST?

Submissions are now closed. Please look out for XFest next year!

DO YOU PAY PERFORMERS?

We are not able to offer compensation to performers.

I HAVE A GREAT IDEA FOR A WORKSHOP. WHERE CAN I SUBMIT MY IDEA?

You can submit your workshop ideas to xfest@bigimprov.org.

I DO NOT BELONG TO ANY OF THE IDENTITY GROUPS LISTED. CAN I STILL SIGN UP FOR A WORKSHOP?

Yes! We encourage performers of all genders to participate in our workshops, although some workshops may be designated as exclusive to a specific identity group.  We will post descriptions of all of our workshops here once they are finalized.
